ISS-12 摘

12." People's attitudes are determined more by their immediate situation or surroundings than by any internal characteristic."
Keys: surroundings internal characteristic

A.Internal characteristics govern immediate attitude. Whether clever or stupid, good- or bad-tempered, every man's character is rooted in his childhood. No matter how fickle his attitude might be at any given time, it serves as a direct reflection of the.... process of his character.

B.Compared with internal characteristics, current external stimuli and surroundings only serve as a minor element in formation of attitudes. But this does not mean that we should ignore the influence of environment. The outside surroundings can, over time and experience, alter internal characteristics, ultimately and indirectly influencing an immediate reaction. Thus, external stimuli and environment are of essential, secondary importance in determining attitude.
